Requirements
  • Candidates must be third- or fourth-year journalism or public relations students enrolled in the Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State.
  • Candidates must have successfully completed the writing course COMM 260W.
  • Candidates must submit a current resume and cover letter.
  • Candidates must successfully complete required background checks in accordance with University policies.
  • Candidates should be dependable, flexible, organized, attentive to detail, accountable, and possess solid oral communications skills.
Responsibilities
  • Research and write feature stories and news releases about school people, programs, alumni, and accomplishments.
  • Craft social media posts to promote feature stories and news releases.
Desired Qualifications
  • Courses in advanced writing and editing are desirable.
  • Candidates contacted for an interview should be prepared to submit recent samples of their work.
