Requirements
  • Candidates should possess a PhD, MD or other doctoral degree in a related behavioral science discipline and have an outstanding record of scholarly publications and extramural funding with exceptional promise in cancer prevention and survivorship research.
Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Professor will have as his or her main duty, the conduct of reliable and independent research in cancer prevention and survivorship.
  • This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Lifestyle Medicine, Prevention and Digital Health as well as the Cancer Survivorship Program Director.
  • The incumbent in this position will be part of a transformative cancer prevention and control research program and have research interests and expertise in lifestyle medicine across the cancer continuum from prevention through survivorship.
  • Write and submit scientific papers and abstracts, as well as submit grant proposals.
  • Presents ongoing work and findings to colleagues and at academic/research conferences.
  • Participates in the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Junior Development Program.
  • Supervises, mentors, and manages postdoctoral fellows as well as graduate students engaged in collaborative research projects.
  • Participates in the management of the daily operations of his/her lab.
  • Conduct regular research lab meetings.

  • Expertise in exercise and physical activity; nutrition; obesity and body composition; symptom and toxicities measurement and management; patient reported outcomes; technology-supported behavioral interventions; biobehavioral mechanisms in cancer control; electronic health record, bioinformatics and value-based models of cancer survivorship care; health disparities in specific survivorship subgroups (e.g., LGBT; Hispanics; Elderly); cardiometabolic health in cancer survivors; translational science and dissemination and implementation research.
