FreedomCare operates in the home care services market, focusing on Medicaid beneficiaries in New York. It enables people who need daily living assistance to hire a family member or trusted friend as their caregiver. The caregiver is then paid for their services, with immediate payment after each shift, providing financial stability. The core clients are Medicaid recipients who can choose caregivers from among relatives or close connections, including spouses or parents of a child under 21. The company partners with Medicaid and health plans to manage the caregiving process, ensuring prompt payments and high-quality, personalized care. Its goal is to improve home-based care experiences for patients while supporting the financial well-being of informal caregivers by integrating them into a structured, Medicaid-funded system.
