Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensure
  • One year of experience working with children, adolescents and/or adults in a healthcare, behavioral, mental health, or social services setting
  • Current and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) considered insurable under CMH insurance coverage
  • Current California Driver’s License
Responsibilities
  • Provides psychotherapeutic services and support for youth (ages 0-26) and their caregivers.
  • Provides assessment and diagnosis for psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Makes recommendations and implements appropriate treatment plans, then monitors progress through follow-up sessions and/or regular meetings.
  • Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team consulting with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, psychiatrists, and medical staff.
  • Assures the deliverance of quality treatment to patients utilizing best practices and standards of care.
  • Provides appropriate coordination of resources, referrals, and support in an effort to meet the total needs of the patient.
  • Supports the implementation and coordination of the Collaborative Care for Youth Innovation grant.
  • Operates within a Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) and Primary Care Behavioral Model (PCBH), integrating behavioral health into pediatric and young adult primary care settings.
  • Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, offering therapy and support that aligns with patients’ overall healthcare goals.
  • Emphasizes early identification, family-centered support, and seamless transitions to appropriate care across child, adolescent, and young adult populations (ages 0-26 years).
  • Ability to manage common behavioral health concerns that present in primary care (e.g., depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma).
  • Flexible in treatment approaches and adaptable to needs and concerns of patients up to age 26.
  • Comfort with utilizing psychological screening measures to assess the efficacy of their treatment plan and drive symptom improvement.
  • Provide clinical supervision weekly to unlicensed Behavioral Staff.
  • This is a grant-funded position with a three-year term with possibility of extension.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments and demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of both patients and their caregivers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address behavioral, physical health, and social needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including communication with caregivers
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Previous experience with crisis intervention
  • Previous experience in the continuity of patient care planning
  • Five years of experience working with children and youth, ages 0-18
  • Training in evidence-based interventions (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused models, COmmunity Clinician Operates within a Collaborative care model etc.)
