The Cypress of Hilton Head’s Plant Department is recruiting a hospitality focused Renovations Specialist to join our team!
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Renovation Specialist is responsible for aiding in the overall planning, development, organization and implementation of services and procedures in the facilities operations department. This position will serve as the community’s Move-in Coordinator and in that role, works in accordance with established policies and procedures of The Facilities Operations Department and The Cypress of Hilton Head Island.

Essential Job Duties:
- Guides residents/buyers in personalizing their new residence through the selections process (i.e. plumbing, electrical, flooring, carpeting, countertops, appliances, cabinetry and customized modifications) in a positive and timely manner.
- Serves as the primary contact with the future resident or existing resident. Greets and sets appointment to review process of customization.
- Conducts through walk through of new home to review needs and wants.
- Shows standard selections available and/or reviews resources for more upscale selections via the iPad or in person at various showrooms. Assists and guides future residents in color selections (i.e. carpet, vinyl, plastic laminate, appliances, and cabinetry).
- Recommends improvements and offers suggestions as appropriate.
- Assists residents in their requests for construction changes.
- Prepares and transmits an accurate summary of selections via excel and a work order system, made by the resident/buyer in a timely fashion.
- Communicates questions and facilitates responses regarding pricing and potential changes between the resident/buyer and the contractor; keeping the Facilities Operations & Marketing directors informed of any potential issues in this regard.
- Prepares invoices for selections with additional cost and obtains a signed selections contract along with a deposit check for this work. Any changes going forward require a change order and signed approval.
- Conducts inspections of each residence at appropriate intervals during the constructions process to assure that resident/buyer selections are accurately installed and completed before move-in.
- Provide picture updates to the resident and vendors to expedite and elevate service levels.
- Reports weekly the status of resident selection process in concert with the construction schedule as required and needed to insure a smooth workflow for the prospects/residents.
- Coordinates contractors to keep work moving along swiftly and accurately with a focus on quality.
- Processes work requests and generates work orders in conjunction with other facility services staff.
- Maintains knowledge of and ability to use proficiently all necessary computer systems, including but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Word and Basic Web-Based Programs.
- Utilizes time in efficient manner, completing duties in timely fashion.
- Processes all the required paperwork timely and accurately, processes bills and invoices related to contractors and residents.
- Communicates with future residents regarding notices for projected move-in dates.
- Coordinates and schedules any decorators or subcontractors’ access to apartment.
- Helps facilitate residents in making the move to their new residence as smooth as possible.
- Maintains skills and competencies by a hands-on approach in all work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normally works in well-lighted, comfortable surroundings. Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions. Must be able to sit for up to 75% of the workday. Must be able to tour through the entire building, up to one mile, occasionally pushing a wheelchair. Must be able to bend and stoop. May be exposed to communicable diseases and must utilize universal precautions. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.
