Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or higher in medical technology or laboratory science or Bachelor’s or higher in one of the chemical or biological sciences + 3 months of high-complexity molecular experience
  • Prior experience in a laboratory environment handling biological specimens, laboratory instruments, and automated equipment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant internship or laboratory work strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a clinical setting or high-throughput molecular laboratory environment
  • Working knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, and supplies
  • Self-motivated and can work independently
  • Experience working with human specimens and biohazardous material
Responsibilities
  • Performing DNA extractions, PCR amplification, and high-throughput sequencing assays
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Completing assigned tasks in accordance with laboratory processes and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records following Good Documentation Practices
  • Providing coverage for staff absences
  • Following standardized laboratory processes and procedures
  • Maintaining continuing education credit requirements
  • Recording nonconformances for errors
  • Entering and tracking data in a laboratory information database
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies
