As a Corporate Paralegal, you will be an important member of the Legal Department at OwnBackup. This role will be reporting to OwnBackup’s Senior Corporate Counsel. The Paralegal will play a central role in managing corporate compliance and legal operations at OwnBackup. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have a strong compliance and organizational mindset. 

Your Day-to-Day Role

• Provide corporate governance support by managing corporate filings, minute books, entity records and related documents and formalities for OwnBackup entities globally
• Assess, implement, and maintain best-in-breed technologies and processes to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve financial performance in the Legal Department
• Track objectives, coordinate financial planning and solve technology challenges
• Serve as the initial point of contact for internal requests for corporate documentation
• Provide corporate support for transactional matters and help manage general corporate matters
• Support a wide variety of centralized functions including but not limited to document administration, legal vendor management and targeted project assistance
• Handle equity administration matters for OwnBackup’s equity plan by partnering with the company’s People Team to review and draft stock option agreements and related documentation
• Assist in preparing and filing equity compliance documents
• Lead or support legal projects and systems as needed, potentially including the ongoing ownership of longer-term projects
• Set objectives, ensure alignment, develop and drive relationships, identify dependencies, facilitate collaboration and deliver superior results

Your Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• 4 years’ experience as corporate paralegal in law firm and/or in-house, including’
• experience with legal project operations
• Paralegal certificate a plus
• Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Highly organized
• Careful and detail-oriented
• Strong project management skills

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our New Jersey office to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business.
