Requirements
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school.
  • Completion of advanced teaching in the insertion of gastric tubes.
  • Completion of a certified course in IV and blood drawing.
  • Knowledge of skills necessary in the assisted living setting.
  • Knowledge of Residential Care Facility regulations is desired.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills and previous experience working with elders desired.
  • Computer skills are a must.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Completion of required hours of pharmacy and additional pharmacy training qualifying to pass medications.
Responsibilities
  • Maintaining established policies and procedures, standards of practice and resident rights, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and evaluate Residents' abilities and needs as necessary.
  • Coaching and teaching Residents and family members as needed.
  • Assigning, directing, and supervising Resident Assistants in quality Resident Services.
  • Administer medications and treatments to residents as directed by their physician.
  • Taking physicians’ orders, episodic charting, and maintaining accurate Resident medical records.
  • Assisting in making level of service determinations.
  • Arranging for adequate supplies and properly functioning equipment.
  • Responding to emergency situations.
  • Meet the psychological needs of residents by maintaining their dignity, providing privacy and confidentiality, and giving gentle and sincere attention to their desires and service needs.
  • Assisting with other duties as necessary for the smooth operation of the Community.
  • Maintain a qualified, efficient staff.
  • Participate in planning and projects/teams as necessary.
  • Enhance professional and personal growth and development.
  • Directly supervises employees while on duty. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
