Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in design and development of highly distributed software platforms/systems
  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science or other equivalent field
  • Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and Oracle database systems is essential
  • Experience administering Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon RDS database platforms
  • Experience with large-scale cloud database migration, modernization and transformation projects involving AWS ODB and RDS services
  • Good understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and their application to infrastructure and database operations
  • 10+ years of Proven track record in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and recommend AWS database services, including Amazon RDS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native database architectures on AWS including query optimization and performance tuning, indexing strategies etc.
  • Lead and support database migrations from on-premises environments to AWS ODB, Amazon RDS, and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms
  • Implement and manage observability, monitoring, and performance analytics across hybrid and cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting to automate database provisioning, patching, upgrades, backups, and operational workflows
  • Build and enhance self-service database platform capabilities to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency
  • Design automated health checks, capacity forecasting models, compliance validation, and remediation workflows
  • Drive standardization and automation across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud database platforms
  • Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to streamline DBA workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption opportunities within database and platform engineering teams
  • Design and implement robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity
  • Architect and manage high-availability solutions, including QL Server Availability Groups, Aurora Global Database, Real Application Clusters (RAC), and Exadata-specific features
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive database security policies covering access control, encryption, and auditing
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and critical system failures
  • Analyze current and future database capacity requirements and proactively plan for scalability to support business growth
  • Take end to end execution ownership of the defined strategy partnering with platform and applications engineering teams
  • Responsible for measuring and reporting improvement in operational efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with global, cross functional teams including application development, infrastructure, PO/PMs, and IT teams to support and optimize database-driven applications and services

This significant milestone paves the way for the internal fit-out to be completed. A ceremony attended by key figures at Mercury and Equinix featured the customary raising of a wreath on the roof of the facility. Mercury is delivering the MU4.3 data centre in Munich for Equinix, a leading global digital infrastructure provider. With a phased fitout strategy, MU4.3 expands an operational facility and reinforces Munich's role within Europe's data landscape. The programme covers full scope construction with significant interfaces in a live environment. Munich remains one of Mercury's longest standing delivery locations, backed by more than twenty years of experience in Germany's data centre market. MU4.3 places a clear emphasis on Whole Life Carbon. Structural solutions, material selection, and coordination with existing assets are being developed with lifecycle performance in mind. Press Releases Published Date May 19, 2026 The next cohort of mHUB's Energy Tech Accelerator, supported by partners Equinix Foundation, Generac, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation, Marmon Holdings, and Salesforce, will advance the commercialization of technologies in energy and infrastructure. CHICAGO | May 19, 2026 - As AI and digital technology continue to scale, the demand for smarter, more resilient energy and compute infrastructure has never been greater. In response, mHUB, the nation's largest independent hard tech innovation center, today announced a global call for startups building solutions at the compute-energy nexus to join its accelerator program. In partnership with Equinix Foundation, Generac, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation, Marmon Holdings, and Salesforce, and with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, the next mHUB accelerator will focus on technologies advancing data center efficiency, grid and infrastructure resilience, and sustainable energy systems. Applications are now open and will be accepted through Monday, July 13. The 6-10 startups accepted into the program will receive a $200,000 initial investment from mHUB Ventures in exchange for 6.5% equity, which includes $100K in cash, $30K in cash reimbursement for product development, and $70K for in-kind services. Participants receive access to state-of-the-art prototyping labs and technical assistance at mHUB, dedicated mentors and expert-led programming, and connections to industry leaders, investors, and a deep manufacturing ecosystem. Equinix is investing an additional $95 million to expand its data centre capacity in Mumbai, with plans to acquire more land and fund growth through foreign capital and debt. The move targets India's largest data centre hub, which accounts for 54% of national capacity.
