Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead activity groups appropriate for residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities, and communicate the level of success.
  • Independently develop and lead activities that enhance the monthly calendar and provide a diverse, engaging program for residents.
  • Interview new residents within their first two weeks of moving into Kent Village.
  • Keep the work area, including the desk and Activity Room, neat and orderly.
  • Meet monthly with the Life Enrichment Director to discuss the monthly activity calendar.
  • Lead activities based on the daily activity handout, including setting up and putting away all required materials.
  • Maintain the activity supply store and submit the monthly supply list to the director on the second Friday of each month.
  • Assist with transporting residents who require assistance to attend activities.
  • Review daily and upcoming scheduled events with the direct supervisor.
  • Report changes that may indicate resident distress or cognitive change to the direct supervisor.
  • Document in the communication log, attend resident care plan meetings as directed, and complete proper care plan follow-up documentation.
  • Assist the Life Enrichment team with ongoing evaluation and improvement of the activity program to better meet residents' needs.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing guidance for volunteers.
  • Engage and assist visually impaired residents in scheduled activities and ensure accessibility.
  • Maintain personal safety and the safety of the immediate work environment.
  • Attend and comply with mandatory in-service training.
  • Attend monthly Life Enrichment staff meetings.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.
