Requirements
  • A minimum of 12 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10 or more years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 8 or more years of experience with a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional four years of experience is required for a total of 16 years.
  • Demonstrated depth in one or more of Radio Frequency Machine Learning, Digital Signal Processing, and/or software-defined radio or wireless prototyping.
  • Strong radio frequency fundamentals, including sampling, modulation, channel effects, noise and interference, link budgets, synchronization, detection, and estimation.
  • Hands-on development experience in Python and/or C/C++ within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility environment.
  • Experience developing and validating prototypes using software-defined radio hardware and/or radio frequency test setups.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical work clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, lead small technical teams, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Experience supporting or leading Department of Defense or Intelligence Community customer engagement and contributing to proposal and capture activities.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • An active or current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with polygraph is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead or co-lead the technical design, development, and prototyping of radio frequency sensing and communications solutions, including detection and classification, waveform characterization, interference mitigation, spectrum situational awareness, link analysis, and related mission applications.
  • Develop and evaluate digital signal processing algorithms for real-world radio frequency environments.
  • Apply machine learning and deep learning approaches to radio frequency problems.
  • Implement research prototypes in Python, C, C++, Java, or other languages, emphasizing reproducibility, performance, and operational relevance.
  • Integrate and test algorithms on software-defined radio platforms, including USRP-class devices, using GNU Radio and/or custom frameworks.
  • Research and prototype against relevant wireless standards and stacks, including LTE/5G concepts, open-source implementations, and other program-aligned waveforms or protocols.
  • Produce high-quality technical artifacts and contribute to publications and/or patents where appropriate.
  • Serve as a technical interface with the government customer by leading technical exchanges, communicating results clearly, and translating mission needs into research and development plans.
  • Support business development by contributing to capture activities, authoring technical volumes and whitepapers, developing rough-order-of-magnitude estimates, and identifying follow-on opportunities.
  • Mentor junior staff and define technical direction.

  • Experience with robustness and adversarial considerations in Radio Frequency Machine Learning.

  • Familiarity with Linux, Git, containers such as Docker/Kubernetes, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and reproducible research pipelines.
  • History of publications or patents, conference presentations, or documented technical leadership.
  • Experience in Department of Defense or Intelligence Community mission environments and/or rapid prototyping for field or operational demonstrations.
