Overview:
Ensure all functions within assigned group in the Business Development department are driving toward common goals, as set forth in strategic and operating plans. Maintain compliance within Business Development department in regards to strategic initiatives, policy, procedures and training. Responsible for the identification and realization of attractive growth and alliance opportunities. Foster a complete and positive account relationship which allows revenue maximization with our existing business while sourcing new lines of business with in your account base.
Job Description:
- Define, refine, test and implement strategic plans; activities include primary research, industry, market and competitive analysis, and customer needs assessment
- Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners
- Develop, maintain and communicate knowledge, awareness and understanding of company policies and procedures, goals, objectives and strategies
- Oversee programs and action plans and regularly evaluate the departments progress to meet company and departmental productivity goals
- Participate in development and preparation of annual preliminary budget for operations and activities, and adjust programs and strategies to meet financial objectives
- Review monthly and performance reports and assure proper and timely resolution of personnel issues, complaints and conflicts
- Create and maintain a culture of accountability and ensure adequate training
- Ensure business conducted within the organization is of the highest ethical and professional standards
- Develop and maintain an effective department through proper selection, training and assignment of personnel
- Assist in establishing and maintaining departmental time lines and priorities
- Continually develop in conjunction with senior management the marketing strategic plan
- Maintain thorough knowledge of key market trends
- Identify future industry trends and client contact opportunities
- Serve as initial point of contact in developing and maintaining new business relationships
Performance Measurements:
- Creation of professional, concise and persuasive presentations as required for new/potential/existing clients
- Ensure all projects are completed on time to satisfaction of internal and external needs
- Initiate and complete proposals, terms and conditions, negotiations, and execution of opportunities
- Accurately create opportunity assessment, market evaluation, and financial evaluation of existing accounts
- Develop client/product roadmap in the long, mid and short term incorporating customer needs, input, and feedback from internal and external groups
- Benchmark performance against internal and external goals
- Persuade existing clients to change processes when necessary in order to accomplish goals
- Penetrate account base completely to maximize existing lines of business while securing new lines of business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required; Master's degree a plus
- 7-10 years of relevant experience
- Must have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide concise monthly business summaries, deliver presentations to all levels
- Ability to develop high level of credibility and positive professional working relationships with team members, peers and upper management
- Ability to motivate staff and effectively resolve performance issues
- Proven track record in sales and marketing
- Successfully manage client teams responsible for key accounts
- Ability to show judgment and initiative to make decisions and problem solve
