Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent plus seven to ten years of experience in commercial maintenance.
  • Five years of supervisory experience.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general equipment repair.
  • Own reliable transportation and a valid clear driver's license, with the ability to drive to any location within the Goodwill market area.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Microsoft Project, and mobile phone applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and County codes and regulations involving construction, installation, fire, safety, and sanitation.
  • Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in reaching conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial retail property operations.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise maintenance workers who maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, and other building systems; evaluate problematic systems or facilities; determine required installation or repair services; perform initial evaluations; and distribute work assignments.
  • Plan maintenance employees’ schedules and establish priorities, goals, and expectations.
  • Identify and purchase repair and maintenance materials as needed.
  • Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting work in retail stores, warehouses, office buildings, and other facilities.
  • Coordinate repairs performed by outside contractors and inspect the work upon completion.
  • Ensure shop and storage areas are well-stocked and well-organized.
  • Administer and service the core locking system installed at all locations.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel wear and correctly use required safety equipment.
  • Complete required monthly safety training and other required training.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with others to support safe and effective completion of assigned jobs and documentation of tasks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
