Engineering Intern

Location: Hybrid, Sunnyvale, California (3-5 days in office)

This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 27th 2025 or June 23rd 2025. This internship is based in Sunnyvale, California, and will require a hybrid work schedule. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

As an Core Unified Platform Intern, you will gain exposure to emerging tech, real-world challenges, and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to high-impact systems—all while developing sought-after technical skills!

Your Impact: 

• Design and implement features for Illumio's security products. 

• Work with senior engineers within team to implement end-to-end features including frontend, backend and unit testing. 

• Contribute to building and maintaining APIs, integrating business logic, and ensuring that backend services scale effectively for hybrid use cases. 

• Collaborate with backend teams to implement features in Ruby and GoLang, ensuring they work seamlessly with the frontend.

Your Toolkit:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026. 

• Knowledge of React for building dynamic and interactive user interfaces. 

• Understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks. 

• Experience or coursework in Ruby and/or GoLang for developing backend services. 

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

• A passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

$ 37 USD - $ 47 USD
