Requirements
  • Five to ten years of proven professional experience in the architectural, engineering, or construction management industry.
  • Ability to evaluate proposals and budgets, take initiative, and exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to serve as a liaison between the team, client agency, contractors, and local code enforcement officials.
  • High proficiency with personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, and standard construction management databases.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive project records.
  • Use standard project management systems, such as PMweb and Contract Manager, to log data, track deliverables, and generate routine and specialized status reports.
  • Review, process, and make recommendations for approval of payment requisitions, trade payment breakdowns, change order proposals, and work authorizations.
  • Assist the Project Manager in evaluating contractor claims.
  • Read, interpret, and comprehend architectural and engineering plans, specifications, addenda, and contract documents to help the project team resolve field issues efficiently.
  • Schedule, attend, and occasionally lead joint scope, progress, and coordination meetings.
  • Prepare detailed meeting minutes and track all follow-up action items.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in coordinating the daily schedules and workflows of all trades, testing agencies, and commissioning consultants.
  • Ensure quality is maintained in accordance with the original intent of the construction documents.
  • Ensure consultants and contractors comply with Dormitory Authority of the State of New York procedures from pre-construction through handover.
  • Manage contract closeout checklists and compile comprehensive final closeout packages.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in the public sector, especially with agencies such as the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, School Construction Authority, or Department of Design and Construction.
  • Prior experience with Dormitory Authority of the State of New York administrative procedures and labor allocation reports.
