Requirements
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience in manufacturing or a related industry, including job costing and percent-of-completion accounting.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience and high proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems.

Responsibilities
  • Manage activities and a team within the accounting department.
  • Develop, review, and monitor financial and cost analysis processes supporting the CEO, CFO, functional business leaders, and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure accounting and finance responsibilities are completed accurately and on time, comply with applicable practices and procedures, and provide financial information to auditors.
  • Ensure efficient use of the enterprise resource planning system and maintain integrity in cost tracking and financial reporting.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures for financial and accounting practices.
  • Coordinate and prepare financial forecasts and ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Develop and document business and accounting policies and procedures that maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end and year-end close, local, state, and federal government reporting, tax filings, and the general ledger.
  • Perform data mining and extraction from primary and secondary data sources and create reports using Excel and other database tools.
  • Integrate business forecasts with historical financial data to anticipate financial outcomes, support strategic business planning, and guide process and policy enhancements.
  • Assess financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results against projections and plans.
  • Analyze results, monitor variances, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve the company's financial status.
  • Work with outside accounting firms to maintain compliance and support their efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement best practices.
  • Enhance existing processes for consistency, standardization, and efficiency, and implement new financial processes and procedures as needed.
  • Build, maintain, and drive financial analysis and reporting to guide and influence business decisions.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Assist the CFO with insurance procurement and renewal for business insurance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with audits conducted by government regulatory agencies and insurance companies.
  • Evaluate, assess, develop, and empower accounting team members.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the CFO.
