  • Phd in a field related to quantum computing
  • At least 5 years of experience working on aspects of quantum compilation, circuit synthesis, quantum error correction, or quantum computing architecture
  • Excellent communication skills

  • A track record of scientific publications and/or patents related to quantum computing

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of IonQ’s compiler roadmap
  • Help develop architectures for IonQ’s future quantum computers by providing the right compiler abstractions and running trade studies
  • Develop compilation techniques that improve performance of algorithms running on IonQ’s current quantum computers
  • Prototype code and write documentation for new compilation techniques
  • Assist the compiler team with the implementation of compiler techniques in production code
  • Work with error mitigation and error correction experts to co-develop methods that improve performance of current and future devices
  • Work with quantum application and architecture experts to design the end-to-end circuit optimization framework
