- Three to four years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and modeling.
- Experience with manufacturing enterprise resource planning systems; Microsoft Dynamics is a plus, as are SAP, Oracle, and Epicor.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standard and product costing, inventory and work-in-process, and management reporting fundamentals.
- Strong quantitative skills for interpreting operational cost data, trends, and drivers.
- Ability to build clear analyses and recommendations from incomplete or evolving data.
- Experience preparing management reports and presenting findings to cross-functional partners.
- High accuracy with large data sets and reconciliations in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to influence.
- Ability to collaborate across FP&A, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
- Collect and analyze operational cost data, including materials, labor, overhead, and freight or shipping, to improve cost visibility and margin performance.
- Set, maintain, and roll standard costs for manufactured goods; develop and analyze cost standards and key cost drivers.
- Determine cost center structure and direct-labor rates, and determine variable and fixed costs and separate them in product costs and rates.
- Analyze and explain purchase price variance, labor, and overhead variances and capacity utilization, and recommend actions to reduce cost and waste.
- Perform month-end inventory, work-in-process, and cost-account reconciliations; support cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Partner with Engineering to maintain bills of materials and routers that support accurate product costing.
- Provide margin and job-level profitability insights for management reporting and support forecast and annual planning inputs.
- Perform cost-volume-profit and breakeven analyses and make-versus-buy analyses to support pricing, capacity, and sourcing decisions.
- Support, validate, and analyze manufacturing-related capital expenditure applications regarding payback.
- Liaise with the Estimation team regarding sales-related estimates and validate cost assessments or pre-calculations in the order backlog.
- High-precision or semiconductor equipment experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or Epicor manufacturing enterprise resource planning systems.
