Requirements
  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience in the can or end making process.
  • Job related experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Supervises the plant production function as directed.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents as required.
  • Supports development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
  • Maintains process quality in accordance with Ball Packaging Operations process and quality standards.
  • Serves as the facilitator (in charge) of the plant during designated periods of time as directed by management.
  • Provides administration and supervision of the plant production function as directed.
  • Provides for and reviews the performance and personal development of all subordinates on an individual basis.
  • Arranges for on-the-job training and development of subordinates' skills to ensure a continued high level of production and morale.
  • Provides production, spoilage, and maintenance records and maintains subordinates' attendance, evaluation and other appropriate records.
  • Schedules subordinates' vacations, overtime, holidays, and job assignments.
  • Provides communications and dissemination of information between crew operations.
  • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
  • Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
  • Administer department preventive maintenance program.
  • Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that will discourage third party interference
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the plant, and the company.
  • Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
  • Regular working cycle is usually 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, Monday through Sunday; overtime or on-call as directed by management.
  • Maintains awareness and compliance with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements; attends scheduled training.
  • Communicates with the emergency coordinator or Environmental Focal Point/Environmental Manager regarding environmental management activities.
  • Understands and responds to emergency directions by being familiar with emergency procedures, equipment, and systems; implements contingency plans as required.
  • Understanding, completing, and maintaining environmental documentation as trained or directed; reports status to EC, EFP, or EM.
  • Complies with job safety practices, policies, and procedures in plant and corporate directives.
  • Recognizes waste streams and minimizes waste generation; proper disposal and segregation as directed; understands and practices accumulation and storage requirements for wastes.
  • Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.

Ball reports Q2 2026 earnings up 14.4% with $1.03 diluted EPS, targets $900M free cash flow

Ball Corporation reported strong second quarter 2026 results, with comparable diluted earnings per share of $1.03, up 14.4% from 90 cents in 2025. Comparable operating earnings rose 7.7% to $433 million from $402 million year-over-year. Global aluminium packaging shipments increased 4.3% in the quarter. The company returned $222 million to shareholders through share repurchases and dividends in the first half of 2026, remaining on track to return at least $800 million by year-end. Ball expects comparable diluted earnings per share growth of more than 10% in 2026 and free cash flow exceeding $900 million. Second quarter sales reached $4.00 billion, compared to $3.34 billion in 2025. The Westminster, Colorado-based packaging company serves beverage, personal care, and household products industries globally.

Despite Ball's five-year revenue growth of just 2.4% annually, analysts forecast 2.8% growth over the next 12 months. The company's market capitalisation stands at $16.22 billion.
