Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies and tool is required: Protege, Ontology Web Language (OWL), Resource Description Framework (RDF), SPARQL, OWLTools, yamlpyowl
  • Experience in the following data stores is preferred: MongoDB, Accumulo, Aurora, S3, Neo4j
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data management
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, graph, and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, requiring limited direction and supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
  • Experience with Agile software development practices and processes
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain our company's data architecture
  • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, data ontology and other documentation to support and describe the data architecture
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams to understand functional and non-functional requirements and design data solutions that meet those requirements
  • Enhance existing data definitions, models, and databases to ensure platform integrity and scalability as customer demand and system complexity increases
  • Prepare and communicate designs and architecture reports for development teams, management and executive leadership
  • Provide data model and ontology visualizations using established open source software
  • Develop a data test plan policy to empower and direct teams and individuals to perform integrity, stability and functional tests in support of data, systems and functional integrity
  • Assess data implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external policies and regulations. Recommend updates to policies where appropriate
  • Optimize data infrastructure design for performance and scalability
  • Ensure data security and compliance with industry and regulatory standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the development team on data-related topics
