Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Conduct client intakes, gather documents, and explain case procedures in Spanish and English.
  • Translate legal documents, correspondence, and communications as needed.
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Calendar deadlines, hearings, and attorney appointments.
  • Assist with filing court documents electronically and in person, depending on jurisdiction.
  • Draft and edit legal documents such as letters, declarations, motions, petitions, discovery responses, and contracts.
  • Prepare forms and applications relevant to the practice area, including immigration forms, litigation filings, and family law pleadings.
  • Review client-submitted materials for completeness and compliance.
  • Conduct factual and legal research using databases and public records.
  • Summarize case law, statutes, and regulatory requirements for attorney review.
  • Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence in both Spanish and English.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, and document production.
  • Support billing, timekeeping, and other office administrative tasks when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Significant experience as a legal assistant, preferably as a paralegal, in a plaintiff's personal injury law firm.
  • Experience or interest in social media marketing.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Paralegal certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or legal services setting is strongly preferred.
