Requirements
  • Provide a degree-level education equivalent to graduation from an accredited or state-approved school of nursing.
  • Hold a current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Experience with residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to resident health and wellness.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell as required by the role.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and intermittently lift and support residents using proper body mechanics.
Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services, assistance, support, and companionship to residents.
  • Administer or assist with resident medication according to the Resident Care Plan.
  • Engage residents while checking on their well-being and communicate changes in condition or the Care Plan.
  • Collaborate with the Wellness Director and Assistant Wellness Director to assess and document resident assessments at state- or employer-specified intervals.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health, or a hospital setting.
