Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is required, or no less than eight years of experience may substitute.
  • At least two years of related experience as an Employment Specialist or a background in business is required.
  • Two years of experience in the health services field is required.
  • A current, valid driver's license is required.
  • Daily use of a registered and insured vehicle is required.
  • Access to a car is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the assigned Career Development Department and work with Employment Specialists to develop an effective team supporting Ability Beyond and the individuals served.
  • Train and support assigned staff on required paperwork and facilitate in-service trainings and staff meetings as directed.
  • Collect, monitor, and complete documentation required by state-funded and local business contracts in a timely manner.
  • Complete required billing and collection activities for necessary funding sources.
  • Develop positive working relationships with third-party payers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ensure continued referrals and participate in provider meetings and external professional networks to identify partnerships and learning opportunities.
  • Monitor and provide input into employment plans for program participants, including short-term goals, long-term goals, personal goals, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with the agency mission, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Accept referrals for individuals eligible for work-site or individual placements and establish appropriate caseload goals.
  • Assist staff and groups with goals to ensure budgetary expectations are realized.
  • Plan for and recommend staffing needs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate quality-assurance indicators and tools for Career Development services.
  • Respond to case-management needs of the Career Development Department.
  • Represent Ability Beyond to individuals served, their families, professionals, community and government agencies, and related organizations.
  • Assist the Assistant Services Director or Services Manager with pursuing funding streams, completing requests for proposals and grants, and evolving the department to meet changing needs or growth.
