Requirements
  • Must pass a non-Department of Transportation physical examination.
  • Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen and receive a negative result.
  • Must be able to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must consent to a ten-year work-history check; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained and documented if requested.
  • Must comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Load and unload freight according to Department of Transportation requirements, by hand or using a hand truck or dolly.
  • Sort and secure items on trucks or the dock according to Department of Transportation requirements to prevent damage.
  • Lift cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, and other materials.
  • Use common material-handling tools, including carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
  • Perform standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending, reaching, and lifting above and below waist level, including heavy lifting.
  • Work safely and professionally to reduce personal and coworkers' risk.
  • Process all paperwork associated with daily job execution.
  • Work Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
  • Be available and willing to work; exceptions require management approval.
  • Perform other duties as directed or requested.
