Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years of professional experience
  • Advanced coursework or equivalent experience in advanced composites, finite element modeling, engineering design, advanced mechanics of materials
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and constant deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Designing and conducting experimental test campaigns for engineering research
  • Analyzing data collected from experiments
  • Developing innovative solutions for real-world engineering challenges
  • Proficiency in numerical modeling, CAD/CAE development, and programming to enhance research capabilities
  • Contributing to the preparation of technical reports, research proposals, and presentations
  • Collaborating with research staff
  • Mentoring undergraduate researchers
Desired Qualifications
  • MS in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in conducting static and dynamic laboratory load tests of composites
  • Experience in student research
  • Prior experience working in a laboratory or shop environment
