Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of professional athletic, payroll, finance, accounting, procurement, fundraising, or event coordination experience.
  • Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.
  • Knowledge of athletic related policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of office administrative practices and procedures.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates one or more programs within the University of Maryland Department of Athletics.
  • Provides essential support to the department's senior leadership, with a focus on the successful planning and implementation of major events, conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Develops an event calendar.
  • Develops and implements programs that align with the organization's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Creates program materials.
  • Establishes staffing requirements and ensures that the program achieves stated objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Prior experience in an athletic department or high-demand office environment.
