Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years of relevant accounting, finance or payment experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good numeracy skills
- Strong organizational skills and follow through
- High level of attention to detail and good reconciliation skills
- Logical and practical thinking
- Calm demeanor, especially under pressure
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of global banking systems and foreign currency payments
- Prior experience with SAP is desirable
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, Outlook
- Multi-lingual skills are a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage the sale settlement process for all auction & private sales
- Generate outgoing client payment runs daily
- Ensure client payment instructions are entered appropriately and verbally verified when required
- Ensure clients are paid promptly and in accordance with any agreed terms
- Ensure Corporate Governance policies are always adhered to
- Reconcile incoming and outgoing payments daily
- Manage payment requests and currency purchases via our Global Trading Company
- Promptly answer and resolve inquiries from clients and internal departments
- Manage the remittance of checks & payment advices
- Liaise with our Treasury department to resolve client payment issues and assist with cash management
- Work with Sotheby’s Financial Services on complex client payment scenarios
- Complete Ad hoc requests and projects as needed by Credit Manager / PSS Management
