Job Title: Marketing Assistant for the HPU Design Lab

Department: Office of Communications

Supervisor: Mary Ealley, Assistant Vice President of Creative Projects

Starting Rate of Pay: $10.00

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Department Description:

The HPU Design Lab creates High Point University print and digital marketing materials. We assist university departments with their project needs and manage the projects from concept to completion. The intern will work closely with the team at the Design Lab.

As a part of the team this position will experience the day-to-day operations and learn how the department works with and supports the Office of Communication and the entire university.

Job Description, Location/ Hours Required:

The candidate will perform all job duties in (HPU Design Lab – off campus – 806 Westchester Dr.). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

•Updating project information in the Air Table databases•Assisting with the creation of timelines for upcoming projects•Marking up files with edits and proofreading projects•Creating design projects in Canva•Filing invoices and labeling and filing samples•Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills:

•Computer skills with Excel, Word/Outlook and Canva

•Excellent time management skills, self-motivation and attention to detail

•Knowledge of the Adobe Suite design products and photoshop
