Must have experience coaching a sport or teaching Physical Education. At minimum, must be an athlete with at least 3 years of experience playing in a team sport.
Must have experience working with children as young as pre-school up to and including older teens.
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Should be comfortable with all areas of sports programming including skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, and fun.
Must be able to demonstrate and explain sports skills that are being taught to multiple age groups / ability levels and be inclusive of all.
Must be alert and have the quick ability to identify and prevent any safety concerns as they arise.
Will need to be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED prior to starting in this position.
needs to be able to create and execute lesson plans for each lesson that encourages learning, growth, and goal achievement appropriate for each ability level and age group.
Will need excellent communication skills not only to work with participants but to be able to communicate with parents regarding the progress of their child.
Must be consistent on a weekly basis and be very minimally absent, if at all, to provide consistency and quality to participants.
Responsibilities
Sports Instructors should be innovative, creative, fun, and inclusive of all levels / ability types to provide quality programming that encourages learning, healthy living, development of gross motor skills in youth, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Sports Instructors will create and execute their own curriculum to meet the needs of the participants of the class.
