Pima County’s Conservation Lands & Resources Department is seeking a part-time Visitor Center Clerk who will play a crucial role in supporting various operational tasks. As the Visitor Center Clerk, you will provide helpful information to the public at Pima County visitor centers, manage the retail counter in the gift shop, and perform clerical tasks, such as word processing and data entry, while assisting with filing records, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
Essential Functions:

Operates the visitor center phone and email systems to respond to inquiries from current and prospective campers;
Assists campers with reservation-related needs, including making reservations, reviewing reservation details, facilitating cancellations or changes, and guiding users through the online reservation system;
Maintains and updates data, records, and reports related to reservations, attendance, campground usage, and visitor center operations;
Supports office operations including filing, organizing documents, inventorying office supplies, and coordinating requisition requests with campground supervisors;
Conducts daily general inspections of the visitor center area and campground for cleanliness, rule compliance, and basic condition issues;
Ensures the visitor center and campsite areas remain clean, orderly, and presentable;
Posts campsite tags, verifies check-in/check-out status, and confirms compliance with reservation requirements (non-cash handling);
Provides information to campers regarding campground rules, desert safety, flora and fauna, travel directions, and park amenities;
Assists with routine office-related maintenance tasks and light facility care as needed;
Helps ensure consistent adherence to established park and county policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in a public-facing customer service, administrative support, recreation, or similar role OR an equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Minimum six (6) months experience in retail, including the use of cash register and credit card machines.
Experience providing customer service to diverse groups or public, including while under pressure.
Experience with both written grammar and spelling in English.

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license isrequiredat time of application. Valid AZ driver license isrequiredat time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review todetermineapplicant’s suitability tooperatecounty vehiclesin accordance withPima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain andmaintainthe required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.
