Position Description:
Wade Trim is seeking a Senior BIM Designer to join our Water Team to enhance our Design Technology practice. The candidate is self-motivated, works well with others, and possesses excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Support: Provide daily Revit + Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360/ACC) management & support to project teams in across all offices and consultants
- Train: Responsible for discipline specific Revit + ACC/BIM 360 training programs throughout the firm to include, monthly user group tips and tricks, new employee training, individual staff training and support
- Leadership: Coordinate with other Tech Leads, recommend new technology developments and aid in presenting
- Innovation: Provide critical thinking approach to the way we practice and produce design solutions by embracing technology and forward critical thinking that continuously improves the design process.
- Misc: Templates – co-manage the Revit templates update with other Tech Leads. Content creation – co-manage creation and library management.
- Software deployment and updates – work with the IT department to manage the deployment of Revit and other ancillary BIM tools. Tools – work with Project Delivery department to continue researching and developing efficiency tools that streamline our Project Delivery process. Participate in Revit/BIM organizations and national conferences. Coordination – support project teams by meeting with engineering consultants and contractors to refine BIM processes.
- Generate project-specific custom parametric Revit families and/or BIM templates and content, as needed
- Support and successfully apply company, client, and project drafting standards, procedures, and best practices to project templates and users
- Demonstrate ability to apply formulas, principles, and practices to complete required models and drawings
- Provide a range of production work including problem analysis, layout, modeling, detailing, drafting, and coordination with other disciplines on project of substantial variety and complexity
- Demonstrate knowledge of assigned and related disciplines
- Project Support - Coordinate BIM activities with other designers, drafters, and design disciplines
- Successfully communicate and correspond with internal project personnel and external clients
- Execute design changes and project drawing revisions throughout all project phases
- Maintain BIM and CAD proficiency and mastery of current software platforms.
- Assess problems and recommend solutions to technical and design related issues
- Interpret, analyze, organize new design projects and/or revisions to existing projects of varying scales and complexity
- Apply the use of technology differentiators (3D modeling, advanced rendering, etc.) in marketing and proposal development
- Demonstrate willingness to stay abreast of BIM related technologies and engineering concepts to provide flexible project support
- Recognize and work to meet project schedules and budgets
- Maintain a collaborative and dynamic work environment with related staff in multiple disciplines to assure project success
- Support and mentor BIM Coordinators and fellow users across the organization
- Integrate BIM models with analysis tools
- Assist Project Managers as needed
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an AEC specific discipline, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred or 10 years of related experience
Skills/Experience:
- Expert user in Revit + Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360/ACC), with experience providing one on one Revit support
- Large firm experience preferred. Experience with Revit training within a large firm environment
- Computational design experience preferred.
