Vial’s vision is to empower scientists to cure all human disease. Vial was founded on a mission to
reimagine clinical trials and deliver faster and more efficient trials for sponsors. Through our end to end technology platform, we are delivering on a generational opportunity to make trials radically more efficient.
Vial’s co-founders (Simon Burns and Andrew Brackin) were early team members at $1B+ startups Robinhood, Opendoor and Newfront. Our early team is made up of experienced technology and operations leaders from Apple, Google, Microsoft, Faire, Chime and other leading technology companies.

What You’ll Do
Overview
As the Director of Sales, you will lead a team of BDMs. Our BDMs identify, engage and sell biotech companies on working with Vial to run their clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities
- The Director of Sales will be responsible for managing the sales team (hire, train and develop a team of full-cycle BDMs)
- Refine quotas - improve the predictability of the sales pipeline and of quarterly goals
- Identify key metrics + report to leadership team regularly
- Refine sales process, pitch and build playbooks
- Iterate on compensation structure and promotion paths for team
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in a sales role (at least 3 as sales manager), preferably with a fast-growing technology company
- Experience leading high performance teams to consistently exceed goals
- Possesses business acumen, strong analytics, negotiating, problem-solving, and management skills
- Consistent track record of quota overachievement as an individual contributor
- Able to speak in front of senior audiences as well as write clearly and concisely
- A self-starter, motivated leader who works well autonomously
