Requirements
  • A master's degree or higher in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a pediatric care setting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • A current and valid Oregon license to practice in Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or Occupational Therapy.
  • American Heart Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement development plans.
  • Evaluate staff competency and intervene to optimize performance and ensure safe, quality, effective, and efficient patient care.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of new staff members.
  • Ensure staff compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Allocate and manage resources to meet patient care needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate productivity, scheduling, and workload distribution.
  • Address and resolve clinical issues, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices and regulatory requirements in rehabilitation therapy.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and protocols to improve clinical care.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
  • Foster communication within the team and across hospital departments.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss patient care, address concerns, and share updates.
  • Act as a liaison between the rehabilitation department and hospital administration.
  • Participate in hospital committees, representing the rehabilitation department.
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients in the acute care setting.
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Prioritize multiple projects, activities, and assignments.
  • Attend out-of-town conferences according to hospital travel and reimbursement policies.
  • Use computer systems for several hours as needed.
  • Implement a flexible schedule to meet operational needs and support work-life balance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Healthcare administration coursework or degree.
  • Acute care experience.
  • Two years of recent formal or informal leadership experience.
  • Union experience.
