  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related fields.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree 6+ years in a progressive benefits role
  • 5+ years of professional industry experience in the Benefits Field with a focus on H&W programs
  • Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of ERISA, ACA requirements
  • SHRM-CP/PHR or CEBS certification preferred.
  • Experience with union environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with UKG preferred
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Excel and/or Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in leading and implementing health and welfare programs
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERISA plans
  • Demonstrable ability to interpret and communicate programs and policies
  • Must have strong analytical skills and ability to create meaningful reporting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to write and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 8 hours per day.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzes, develops benefit strategies process to create automation and mitigate risk.
  • Serve as the key escalation point for the Benefits team.
  • Responsible for the overall compliance and day to day administration of 401k program.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities for the benefits function, including but not limited to, invoice processing, benefit corrections, funding notices and required audits.
  • Ensure and manage compliance with all benefit plan legislation by maintaining knowledge and understanding of ERISA, IRS regulations, the Affordable Care Act, and other Federal, State, and Local related legislation.
  • Serves as the lead to launch, implement programs, including annual open enrollment.
  • Assess manual processes within the Benefits function and identify opportunities to automate or streamline work.
  • Recommends short- and long-term benefits solutions (e.g., policy adjustments, program corrections, leveraging of existing solutions) to meet business need.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating a total rewards culture by collaborating closely with stakeholders.
  • Act as champion and change agent by supporting HR-related needs and identifying value-added services.
  • Able to interact with all levels in the organization and turn open questions into formulated responses.
