Requirements
  • The candidate must have basic knowledge of food, spirits, wine, beer, and beverage selections.
  • The candidate must be at least 17 years of age.
  • The candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • The candidate must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The candidate must complete a background check before starting with the company.
Responsibilities
  • Take direction from Event Managers, Culinary, Operations, and Lead staff.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings with event managers and the team to review the event briefing and timing.
  • Set up all service areas in a timely manner, including moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities and ensure that guest expectations are being met.
  • Pass appetizers and beverages while providing guest services throughout cocktail hour.
  • Work with a dining room lead and team members to serve plated or strolling cuisine, pour water and wine tableside, and support a fine-dining environment.
  • Deliver outstanding service throughout the event process.
  • Properly use and maintain service equipment at each event.
  • Practice lateral service and actively look for ways to help people.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Work as a team member to ensure cleanliness at the end of the event in all service and culinary areas.
  • Handle company and vendor rentals and equipment to avoid damage and breakage.
  • Ensure Metro Detroit Venue and Forte Belanger private events are flawlessly executed with high-quality service throughout the event season.
