- Prior experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical distributor, with demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes; experience with mechanical or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors or distributors, plumbing or piping contractors or distributors, fire protection or sprinkler systems, low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling companies will also be considered.
- Commercial and/or industrial project experience.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive, collaborative approach with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute purchasing strategies aligned with project estimates and timelines.
- Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to protect company interests.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals and make recommendations.
- Track and ensure timely receipt of contracts, insurance certificates, and required documentation.
- Coordinate with Fleet, Logistics, and Project Teams on equipment and material needs.
- Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems.
- Support cost control and estimating initiatives through accurate reporting and insights.
- Experience with Vista/Viewpoint is preferred.
- Two or more years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
- Experience with low-voltage or wireless projects is preferred.
