About this Role
We are looking for an Associate to join the Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team within our SMA Solutions business unit. The Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team is responsible for leading commercial strategy efforts for the business, driving new and innovative product solutions, and engaging with our largest and most complex strategic partners. The Associate position will be responsible for project management, sales activation, and execution of commercial priorities for the business. A strong team player is critical, as they will work creatively and collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments, such as Portfolio Management, Sales, Research, Operations, Marketing and COO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help lead key projects and execution on commercial priorities
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional projects, meetings, working groups
- Provide accurate and timely data analysis and analytical support
- Develop and execute on Sales Activation strategy and SMA campaigns
- Support and help organize product development initiatives and platform launches
- Partner with Global Product, US Wealth, and Institutional client teams to ensure appropriate positioning of SMA Solutions within broader firm initiatives and product campaigns
- Work collaboratively and coordinate with partners within BlackRock to meet project deadlines and goals
- Effectively balance strategic and ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Ability to lead large, cross-functional virtual teams
- Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment
- A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through complex problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
- Experience with retail financial advisor industry and familiarity with separately managed accounts a strong plus
- Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills including ability to manage projects independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
- Effective public speaking and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and understand all aspects of the SMA business
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of relevant asset management industry experience with some Separately Managed Account (SMA) experience preferred
- BA/BS degree required
- Project Management experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
- NASD series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses preferred
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $137,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
