Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of total experience, 2-3 years of experience in relevant roles
- Strong communication and influencing skills; you are able to build meaningful relationships with employees at all levels across the company
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to problem solve for the short and longer-term issues
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite especially with Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Broad experience across the People function including People Operations, People Analytics, or HR Generalist experience
- Comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, and responsibility; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done and then doing it
- Empathetic and employee-focused approach
- Experience supporting fast-growing SaaS organizations
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll for the company across all geographies
- Manage employee onboarding process from offer all the way through initial employee experience
- Become the admin for our HRIS system (Rippling)
- Manage benefits program, orientation and coordination of benefits enrollment
- Act as an advocate and resource for Canary employees
- Improve processes and help employees find answers to everything from onboarding to off-boarding to benefits to performance management
- Advise and consult management on HR policies and programs, such as leaves of absence
- Support processes for recruiting, candidate interviews, and employee onboarding, using Lever and other tools
- Ensure Canary stays on top of compliance needs
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of our employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies
- Carry out various HR systems development projects to help the department evolve into a unity that proactively meets the needs of Canary's HR operations
- Maintain the employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; direct the processing of benefit claims; perform benefits administration; change reporting, new hire enrollments, payroll deductions design and conducting educational programs on benefit programs
- Manage employee leaves; medical, maternity/paternity, or others, in assigned geographies
- Ensure compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources, national, federal, and state requirements in all our offices including local facility practices
- Support with audits, surveys, and funder requests regarding HR and employee information and statistics
- Support the performance review process by providing coaching, counseling, training, etc
- Assist with employee relations issues such as employee complaints and exit interviewing
- Maintain organizational charts and employee lists
- Maintain human resource information system records and reporting; assist with ongoing maintenance of personnel files and records retention policies and proceduresRecommend and make improvements to current processes, forms, and reports
- Report employee information: audits, EDD, EEOC, discrimination testing, benefits, turnover
