Requirements
  • 5+ years as a database, infrastructure, or platform engineer
  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing and supporting scalable and performant database systems (MySQL preferred)
  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational database structures and best practices
  • Strong expertise with database internals, including performance tuning and query optimization
  • Expertise in integrating best practices for data reliability, fault tolerance, and integrity
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), including RDS
  • Experience designing and building highly reliable systems at scale
  • Some experience with observability tooling (e.g. ELK, Datadog, Honeycomb) and a compiled language (e.g. Go)
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, GitOps)
