Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • 8+ years of experience with strategic business planning, consulting, or related experience; includes experience contributing to the analysis of business needs and development of business strategies as well as serving as a liaison with leadership
  • Formal or informal leadership experience. Ability to effectively guide others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity
  • Expertise in leveraging industry knowledge, technical expertise, and proven success building and sustaining relationships based on competence, trust, and mutual respect to quickly build rapport, credibility, and collaborative partnerships with leaders, stakeholders, and functional and technical teams to drive results
  • Effective analytical skills, problem solving skills, statistical modeling skills, business intuition, and demonstrated proficiency in distilling large amounts of information to the most relevant insights. Ability to critically evaluate business trends, assess market conditions and develop/recommend strategic plans
  • Experience leading strategic programs, including research and concept development
  • Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to recognize, prioritize, and assign activities
  • Ability to identify root cause, understand organizational context and drivers, and to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to leaders and stakeholders
  • Ability to understand, address, and manage a range of health care solutions and needs in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Advanced consultation skills and the ability to engage and influence decision maker's behaviors regarding new programs/initiatives that will help improve the quality of care for our member as well as reduce medical trend
  • Product/portfolio mindset for overall end-to-end success of projects including financial, business, and operational results
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, including senior leadership. Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to travel as needed. Valid driver's license required
  • Master's degree (MPH, MHA, MBA) or direct and applicable work experience
  • 10+ years of experience with strategic business planning, consulting, or related experience; includes experience contributing to the analysis of business needs and development of business strategies as well as serving as a liaison with leadership
Responsibilities
  • Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to deliver health care solutions with the goal of reducing overall spend and trend!
  • Cheesiness aside, you will be a key influencer working side-by-side with the EVP of Health Care Innovation (HCI) and others within the HCI leadership team with the goal to identify, build and implement dynamic health care innovation strategies using intel gathered from research, analytics, and your deep industry knowledge. You are a healthcare whiz and an architect who formulates and develops ideas from the 'ground up' and monitors progress from initiation. You will partner collaboratively across the enterprise to align HCI strategies internally and externally with key health care organizations in Iowa and South Dakota. Innovation is the name of the game, and you will help lead the way for new, exciting work that impacts our 2 million+ members nationwide!
