Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (for RN)
  • One to two years RN experience, preferable
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC (for RN)
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card (for RN)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing (for LPN)
  • Currently licensed as an LPN in the state of South Carolina or hold a current compact/multi-state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC (for LPN)
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card (for LPN)
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) (for Medical Assistant)
  • High School/GED (required for Medical Assistant)
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program (preferred in all states except South Carolina) (for Medical Assistant)
  • In South Carolina, completion of an accredited Medical assistant post-secondary education program, a Career and technical education health sciences program approved by the South Carolina Department of Education, a medical assisting program provided by a branch of the United States military, or a Medical assisting United States Department of Labor approved Registered Apprenticeship program (for Medical Assistant)
Responsibilities
  • Provides patient care at Roper St. Francis Health Care sites, as assigned, using approved protocols (for RN)
  • Facilitates the timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers (for RN)
  • Ensures all needed medical records are available to care teams and providers prior to patient’s office visit (for RN)
  • Coordinates with other team members to provide exceptional patient service (for RN)
  • Responsible for staging patients in preparation to see providers (for LPN)
  • Updates all patient medications in the medication history at each visit (for LPN)
  • Performs patient related tasks as directed by practice providers (for LPN)
  • Contributes to the completion of the patient’s chief complaint (for Medical Assistant)
  • Documents patient/family needs and participates in planning and implementing care for patients (for Medical Assistant)
  • Administers ordered medications (oral, injection, topically, etc.) within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines (for Medical Assistant)
Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of externship or clinical lab training (preferred for Medical Assistant)
