  • 7+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a early stage company
  • Previous experience with significant clean-up of the accounting records
  • Preferred audit experience with a Big 10 accounting firm
  • 3+ years management experience with a proven track record of training and developing accounting staff
  • Sophisticated depth of communication, analytical, and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently from a remote work environment
  • Maintain high attention to detail and strict deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of QB and Microsoft suite, especially excel
  • Good understanding of the GAAP standards, common accounting practices & procedures in the following areas: Capitalization Policy, Prepaid Recognition Policy, Accruals, Fixed Assets, Intangible assets, AP, AR, Revenue, Deferred Revenue, current and long term liabilities and Inventory
  • Oversee the activities of several client projects including GAAP compliance, clean-up processes, and accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external financial statements and annual audits
  • Revenue &COGS: Ensure proper margin recognition reconciling/recording transactions (Sales, Deferrals, Accruals, Returns, Discounts, Chargebacks), reconciling various sources of truth and invoicing the missed sales as needed
  • Cash to accrual conversion projects
  • Reconciling inventory (Physical, Sub to GL), Accruals, Samples, Inventory adjustments, obsolescence, analysis of accuracy of the landed cost, and /or re-calculation of landed costs
  • Preparing client for the audit: review schedules and the supporting documents and adjust the accounting as needed
  • Managing the whole audit process and facilitating requests from audit firm on clients behalf
  • Review current internal processes and procedures for any lacking areas, and effectively implemented proper procedures as replacement
  • Maintaining professional relationship with the clients while managing client's expectations vs the requested scope of work vs the requested delivery date
