Requirements
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Two years of experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of electromechanical equipment using hand and machine tools.
  • Knowledge of types and uses of screws, nuts, bolts, fasteners, & materials.
  • Knowledge of assembly and various machining techniques.
  • Knowledge of electronics, wiring/cabling, soldering, and reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to self-pace to complete job in time allowed.
  • Proven ability to listen, remember and follow both written and verbal directions, and consistently apply those instructions to your work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member with and without daily supervision, work several overlapping projects over a short period of time, ability to work within an environment with rapidly changing priorities, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.
  • Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication of Military Specification (MIL-SPEC) cable and fiber assemblies based on technical drawings and instructions, including soldering, crimping, polishing, etc.
  • Testing of Military Specification (MIL-SPEC) cable and fiber assemblies based on technical drawings and instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of Military Specification (MIL-SPEC) cable and fiber assemblies based on technical drawings and instructions.
  • Fabrication of cable harness and protectors, e.g., snake skin, spiral wrap, based on technical instructions.
  • Labeling of cables based on technical data and instructions, including creation and application of the labels to the cables.
  • Assembly of electrical boards based on technical drawings and instructions, including soldering.
  • Fabrication of electromechanical assemblies using hand and machine tools.
  • Testing of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Identify and consult any potential issues on technical drawings in order to complete fabrication and assembly.
  • Identify parts, supplies, and tools needed to complete fabrication and assembly.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate quality and assembly documentation/work instructions.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, test, and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and document findings.
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent planning/organizational skills and success in a dynamic customer service environment.
  • Ability to perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, and repair of cable and fiber assemblies, and electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Completion of continuing education/certification in electronics or machining.
