Requirements
  • Seven or more years of professional experience in software quality engineering, including substantial hands-on test automation work.
  • Demonstrated depth with Playwright, including suite architecture, flakiness mitigation, test data strategy, and execution at scale within continuous integration.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tooling as part of a routine development or testing workflow, such as AI coding agents, AI-assisted test authoring, or AI-supported code and requirements analysis.
  • A strong foundation in functional testing, including test design techniques, risk-based prioritization, boundary and negative testing, and structured exploratory testing.
  • Proven experience building a test automation framework from the ground up and articulating the architectural decisions involved.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, or comparable programming experience with the ability to become productive quickly.
  • Experience owning both automated and manual testing for an application, with sound judgment regarding the appropriate application of each.
  • Working knowledge of defect and test management tooling such as Jira, Xray, or equivalent.
  • Experience integrating automated test execution into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
  • The ability to produce written and verbal communication in which test plans, defect reports, and quality summaries stand on their own without narration.
Responsibilities
  • Assume full accountability for functional test coverage of assigned applications, including the user interface, service layers, and integration points.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing, automation, and end-to-end integration testing across the full stack for assigned applications.
  • Define and maintain the application's test strategy, determining what is tested, at which layer, and at what cadence.
  • Act as the quality authority for the application and provide evidence-based release readiness assessments to engineering and product leadership.
  • Evaluate user stories, acceptance criteria, and design documentation to identify ambiguities, missing edge cases, and untestable requirements before development.
  • Generate candidate test cases and scenarios from requirements, then refine, consolidate, and prioritize them using engineering judgment.
  • Compare the implemented codebase against the existing test suite to identify uncovered paths, ineffective assertions, and divergence between specified and actual behavior.
  • Assess tests for automation suitability based on stability, execution frequency, maintenance cost, and exploratory value, and recommend automated or manual execution.
  • Build and maintain Playwright automation, using AI tooling to accelerate authoring, refactoring, debugging, and long-term maintenance.
  • Operate automated suites within continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and conduct manual and exploratory testing where automation is not appropriate.
  • Triage, reproduce, document, and drive defects to resolution using AI-assisted analysis to shorten root-cause isolation.
  • Produce decision-ready reporting on coverage, execution results, defect trends, and release risk.
  • Contribute to the existing quality assurance automation framework by extending its capability, improving stability, and strengthening maintainability.
  • Design and implement a test automation framework from first principles when required, including architecture, page and component abstractions, fixtures, test data management, environment configuration, continuous integration integration, and reporting.
  • Establish and enforce automation standards and design patterns that keep test suites fast, reliable, and readable.
  • Mentor quality engineers on test design, automation architecture, and the effective and responsible use of AI tooling.
  • Lead by example through code review, pairing, and hands-on guidance; identify team skill gaps and create opportunities for colleagues to close them.
  • Serve as a resource for the broader engineering organization on quality practices and AI-assisted testing methods.
  • Partner with software engineers, product managers, and DevOps to shift quality activities earlier in the delivery cycle.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Claude Code or a comparable AI coding agent.
  • Experience creating AI agent skills and custom agents and using Model Context Protocol servers, including building Model Context Protocol servers when existing tooling is insufficient.
  • Application programming interface test automation experience across Representational State Transfer or GraphQL, including contract testing.
  • Experience introducing AI tooling to a quality organization and establishing team-wide standards for its use.
  • Background in a regulated or high-reliability domain.

NYSE parent ICE invests in tZERO, licenses 103 blockchain patents for tokenised securities platform

Intercontinental Exchange, parent of the New York Stock Exchange, has signed agreements with tZERO to build infrastructure for a tokenised securities platform. tZERO will serve as design partner for digital transfer-agent and broker-dealer systems supporting on-chain settlement. ICE will invest in tZERO's latest funding round and license its blockchain patent portfolio, which spans 23 patent families and 103 patents covering token lifecycles, compliance-aware transfer logic, and smart contract frameworks. tZERO is expected to seek approval as a digital transfer agent on ICE's NYSE-affiliated Digital Trading Platform. The companies will also evaluate using tZERO's tokenised assets for collateral management across ICE's clearing houses. The partnership marks tZERO's deepest tie to a major exchange operator. Entrepreneur bought near-bankrupt firm from Buffett for $1,000, built it into $85B giant

Jeffrey Sprecher, founder and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, purchased a failing company from Warren Buffett's MidAmerican Energy for $1,000 in 1997, despite Buffett having invested $35 million in it. Sprecher, who had no Wall Street experience, used it to build what would become Intercontinental Exchange. Starting in 2000 with nine employees in Atlanta, Sprecher lived in a 500-square-foot studio flat and drove a used car whilst building the business. He handled menial tasks like taking out rubbish and answering phones. Today, Intercontinental Exchange has a market capitalisation of $85 billion and employs over 12,000 people. The company has owned the New York Stock Exchange for more than a decade. Sprecher's net worth now stands at $1.2 billion.
