Requirements
- Experience supporting and designing enterprise-level systems and data centers.
- Knowledge of Red Hat or its derivatives.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere and other virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of Sun Solaris.
- Knowledge of systems running Oracle products, including Oracle Applications, Oracle Database 10g, and SGD.
- Knowledge of authentication systems, including NIS, LDAP, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
- Experience with shell scripting.
- Experience monitoring systems using tools such as Nagios, Cacti, and MRTG.
- Knowledge of security, including firewalls, patching, and working to standards such as ISO 27001.
- Knowledge of SAN and NAS systems, including snapshots and off-site replication.
- Understanding of advanced TCP/IP concepts, iSCSI, and InfiniBand.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, organization, and planning skills.
- Ability to work through obstacles and roadblocks.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, escalation of key issues, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build partnerships and influence technical personnel across application and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
- Support and design enterprise-level systems and data centers.
- Administer systems running Oracle products, authentication systems, virtualization platforms, storage environments, and network infrastructure.
- Monitor systems using Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, and similar tools.
- Implement security practices such as firewall management, patching, and compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
- Manage SAN and NAS systems, including snapshots and off-site replication.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of high-performance computing clusters and storage environments, such as OpenStack.
