The Senior IT Applications Specialist will manage and report on a business application portfolio, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. They will investigate technical and business issues related to business applications, ensuring resolution and root cause identification within the defined SLAs. They will direct and manage vendors and service providers ensuring adherence to IO processes and procedures.
What You Will Do:
- Application Support and Lifecycle Management
- Lead investigation of complex technical and business issues related business applications ensuring resolution and root cause identification within the defined SLAs.
- Identify risks, recurring issues and trends to recommend, design and implement changes to applications and/or processes.
- Ensure successful implementation of system enhancements, releases, patches, and fixes to deliver system performance, data integrity, and reliability.
- Responsible for licence and contract management as well as related procurement.
- Identification of improvement opportunities to increase operational and system efficiency and reliability.
- Responsible for technical documentation such as data flow diagrams, functional and technical specifications as part of system design.
- Manage the operations, maintenance, and governance of IO business applications and related integrations.
- Development and delivery of operational dashboards for IT, business, and executives.
- Provide after hours support for business applications
- Solutions Development
- Forge effective and trusted relationships with IT and business teams, supporting strategic objectives by analyzing requirements as well as developing and presenting solution options.
- Research and present solution options to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Oversee application changes, manage vendors, control the release process for applications
- Identify opportunities for business and application process improvements, providing expert strategic and technical advice.
- Develop and execute test cases
- Vendor and Contract Management
- Responsible for directing and managing vendors and service providers ensuring adherence to IO processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with teams and vendors to implement changes, enhancements, and troubleshoot issues to find solutions within defined delivery timeframes
- Manage vendor performance, driving performance to SLAs and KPIs
- Support the procurement of new vendors or contracts
- Operationalize vendor agreements defining and implementing a governance structure and processes
- Analysis and Reporting
- Design and implement application health dashboards, break fix metrics and trend analysis reporting.
- Experience developing and delivering analysis on vendor performance management, application modernization options, value for money assessments and cost of ownership related to business applications.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting and resolving complex technical and business issues for business applications within a defined SLA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage applications in a complex organization, providing expert knowledge and support to the business and IT.
- Ability to handle multiple initiatives and prioritize competing demands in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities.
- Experience managing and implementing enterprise construction management, financial and content management systems.
- Customer focus
- Strong vendor and contract management experience
- Ability to organize and structure work to deliver multiple, competing priorities on time. Experience with Agile methodology preferred.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead cross functional teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft solutions such as Office 365, M365, Azure DevOps
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with MS Dynamics preferred
- Experience with Kahua or e-Builder preferred
- ITIL knowledge
