Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; a higher degree may substitute for years of experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for most positions due to security clearance requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Review ship class modernization, advanced planning, ship availabilities, integration of new technologies, overarching contract strategy, and planning yard functions to prepare program and project briefings, plans, meeting minutes, action item reports, and other program planning documentation.
  • Draft, review, coordinate, and process Ship Change Documents for Combat Systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence, and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems.
  • Support ship alteration and modernization Availability Work Package planning, Participating Acquisition Resource Manager coordination, Ship Change Document maturity management through the Technical Assessment Team, scheduling through the customer Change Manager, logistics review requirements and coordination, and deconfliction of Navy Modernization Process-Management Operations Manual requirements for Ship Change Document maturity.
  • Identify risks and potential mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood and impact of risk events related to planned ship alteration execution.
  • Support resolution of critical problems in fielding and fleet introduction, including future availabilities, by coordinating with Ship Program Offices, the Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program, Participating Acquisition Resource Managers, Type Commanders, and Regional Maintenance Centers to execute fleet requirements.
  • Develop modernization program reports independently in coordination with the customer and Modernization Task Lead.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering briefings and presentations to government representatives and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with customer personnel across Navy program offices, company employees, ship personnel, and industry stakeholders to support and expedite Ship Change Document development, maturity, and execution.
  • Manage email communication and respond promptly to queries.
  • Manage and file developed documents.
  • Safeguard documentation in accordance with security requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • A naval engineering background.
  • Knowledge of Department of War and Naval Sea Systems Command programs, processes, and initiatives.
  • Familiarity and experience in Navy ship modernization or maintenance.
