Requirements
  • Current state Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and neurology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with residents, families, and care team members.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and assisting residents with exercises and activities.
  • Commitment to resident dignity, confidentiality, Residents’ Bill of Rights, and organizational values.
Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on therapeutic care by carrying out individualized plans of care under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Support resident goals through therapeutic activities and exercises that promote function, independence, and quality of life.
  • Monitor and communicate progress, observe resident responses, and report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist and care team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation that meets clinical, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the care team to provide safe, consistent, and compassionate resident care.
  • Support a positive resident experience by treating every individual with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Stay current in the profession through continuing education, in-services, and professional development.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and professionalism when working with older adults and individuals with complex care needs.
