Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The candidate must have collegiate, professional, high school, or club sports coaching experience.
  • The candidate must be able to recruit within National Collegiate Athletic Association and Ivy League rules.
  • The candidate must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • The candidate must be able to work with and relate well to students.
  • The candidate must have excellent sport-specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge.
  • The candidate must have basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, internet, and email capabilities.
  • The candidate must maintain current automated external defibrillator, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and First Aid certification.
  • The candidate must complete criminal background, education, and motor vehicle record checks satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
  • The candidate must comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association and Ivy League rules and regulations and report violations to the compliance office and appropriate parties.
  • The candidate must complete annual rules education on National Collegiate Athletic Association legislation related to recruiting.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach, Sailing, in all phases of the coed and women's sailing programs.
  • Recruit student-athletes within National Collegiate Athletic Association and Ivy League rules.
  • Support student-athlete development.
  • Perform video analysis and coaching.
  • Maintain logs and other compliance information.
  • Maintain professional conduct, positive sportsmanship, and serve as a role model for student-athletes.
  • Work effectively with staff, faculty, and other members of the University.
  • Support efforts to attract top sailors to the Division I non-scholarship program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with social media.
  • Familiarity with ARMS and Teamworks, or similar systems.
  • Prior experience with video editing software.
