Requirements
  • Proven experience with the policy landscape in major East Coast capitals.
  • Ability to travel, with expected frequent travel during legislative sessions.
  • Excellent ethical judgment and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Payactiv’s policy advocacy strategy, with a focus on key East Coast markets.
  • Engage with policymakers to educate them about EWA, how the technology operates, and its benefits to workers and employers.
  • Travel to state capitals, engage with policy stakeholders and testify on legislation.
  • Help build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, third-party groups, academics, and key influencers.
  • Participate in coalition-building efforts and craft partnerships designed to strengthen opportunities to advance Payactiv’s policy agenda.
  • Participate in trade associations, issue-based coalitions, and relevant third parties to advance Payactiv’s policy objectives.
  • Think creatively to influence innovative approaches to advocacy and public policy development in priority states.
  • Report to the Head of Public Policy and coordinate with internal stakeholders to extend the impact of our public policy team.

PayActiv provides a service that allows workers to access their earned wages before the traditional payday. This helps employees avoid high fees associated with payday loans and overdrafts. The process works by using time and attendance data to calculate the wages that have been earned but not yet paid. Once the employer or benefits provider sends the funds, they are loaded onto the worker's Payactiv Visa Card, allowing for quicker access to money. Unlike many competitors, PayActiv does not charge businesses to offer this service, instead generating revenue through transaction fees when workers use their cards. The company aims to support workers financially while also being socially responsible, as it operates as a public benefit corporation and certified B Corp.
